A JEALOUS girlfriend stabbed her lover with a kitchen knife then had sex with him on their bloodstained bed.
Charlene Henderson, 24, found suspicious texts on Gary Stewart’s phone and accused him of cheating on her.
They had a furious row and she grabbed the five-inch blade from her bedside table and stabbed him repeatedly.
Gary had wounds to his head, right shoulder and hip. But even though he was bleeding, he had sex with Henderson before they both fell asleep.
He went to hospital next morning and had three stitches each in the shoulder and hip wounds. The small cut on his head didn’t need treatment.
Gary called his mum and dad and told him Henderson had attacked him with a knife, and police turned up at her home. Henderson admitted to the cops that she had done a stupid thing and could have killed her boyfriend.
She added that she hadn’t taken her medication for depression.
Henderson, left, pled guilty to repeatedly stabbing Gary at her former home in Hillside Drive, Blackridge, West Lothian, on June 19 last year.
She has a previous conviction for chasing a boyfriend down the street with a knife after accusing him of an affair.
But when she appeared for sentence yesterday at Livingston Sheriff Court, her lawyer Urfan Dar claimed she and Gary had a “volatile relationship”.
Mr Dar added: “There was a definite propensity for violence from both sides.”
And despite Henderson’s record, Sheriff Donald Muirhead sentenced her to two years probation and ordered her to wear an electronic tag for six months.
He told her: “I often fall on the side of sending a message that you must not use knives.
“But it seems in your case an exception.
“You’ve been put on probation for the earlier offence and you’ve apparently coped well.
“You appear to be beginning to recognize that you shouldn’t behave in the way that you did and that it was entirely the wrong thing to do.”
