An architect has been accused of attempting to smother his wife after she asked for a divorce.
Clive Wille of Croydon based practice PCL, held his wife down on their bed at the couple’s home in south London and attempted to smother her with a pillow, jurors at the Old Bailey were told on Monday.
The prosecution told the jury that Wille had been calm when he came home but became angry and threatening when his wife told him she wanted a divorce.
Wille has denied attempted murder but accepted a charge of threats to kill.
The court heard that he had told police officers that he was on medication for depression and had been drinking.
