A DAUGHTER found her mother dead in bed when she tried to wake her up, an inquest heard.

Susan Brazendale, 47, was found to have slightly higher levels of an antidepressant prescription drug in her blood but they were not fatal levels.

Pathologist Dr Adrian Bateman, who carried out the post-mortem examination which showed no significant findings, said it was likely Mrs Brazendale suffered a sudden heart arrhythmia – an irregular heartbeat.

Southampton Coroner’s Court was told that Mrs Brazendale’s daughter Chloe failed to wake her mother up on the morning of July 12 this year at their home in North East Road, in Southampton.

Coroner for Southampton Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict of natural causes.
