A 30-year-old Gloucester man was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and witness intimidation Friday about 5:30 p.m.
Police said that Angel Acen had allegedly pinned a woman against a wall, thrown her into a children’s chalkboard easel, then grabbed her feet, causing her to bang her head on the floor during an argument over her not buying lunch that day.
The woman told police that, after the fight, Acen told her that if she left he would carry her back to the house; he also took her keys and cell phone, she said.
The woman escaped to a business on Washington Street, and spoke to police when they responded there.
After responding twice to a dispute between a landlord and tenant on Gould Court Saturday afternoon, police filed charges against three people involved, though each denied allegations against him.
Giuseppe Cusenza, the 50-year-old tenant, was charged with making threats to kill, while his son, Matthew W. Cusenza, faces a charge of threatening to commit a crime that would cause bodily harm.
The landlord, Savvas Gianasmidis, was charged with threatening to commit a crime and assault and battery.
The threats and assault allegedly happened during two run-ins, according to police. At one point, Gianasmidis allegedly pushed the elder Cusenza with two hands, causing him to fall backward into a doorway. The whole confrontation centered around Gianasmidis move to evict Cusenza.
Police responding to a report of a fight in progress in the upstairs rooms at the Crows Nest Saturday about 1:30 a.m. arrested a 29-year-old woman with a home address in Methuen.
Christina M. Castillo faces charges of domestic assault and battery, illegal possession of class E substances, and failure to appear in court.
A man with a bloodied nose and mouth had opened the door for police and admitted to officers that the woman had struck him, but said he did not want to press charges against her. Police then observed a prescription pill bottle with no label on a bed. They later learned the bottle belonging to Castillo contained Gabapentin and Citalopram.
Officers then ran Castillo’s name and found that she had a warrant out of a court in Lowell for failure to pay court fines for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, as well as other assault and battery charges.
Police discovered more graffiti with the name of the notoriously dangerous gang, the Bloods, sprayed on the rear of a storage shed building on Cleveland Street near the train tracks.
Officers found the graffiti Saturday about 12:30 p.m.
