A COLLEGE worker suffering from depression and a painful joint swelling condition took his own life, an inquest has found.
Nigel Peter Grove, 46, was found hanged at his house in Gowerton by his brother Wayne after he could not be contacted on the telephone.
Mr Grove worked in the printing and reprographics department at Gower College Swansea, but had been off work due to his condition at the time he was found.
The inquest into his death at Swansea Civic Centre heard the divorced dad of two suffered from urticaria, which particularly caused joint pain and swelling of the face — this had “triggered” his depression for which he was receiving medication and counselling.
His body was found at his Hen Gorlan home on February 26 this year, with a note nearby detailing financial arrangements and his wishes for his funeral. The cause of death was hanging.
Coroner Philip Rodgers recorded a finding of suicide.
