A mental evaluation is pending for a Clinton Township woman accused in the Jan. 11 drowning of her 4-year-old grandson. Terry Rita Borgia appeared Wednesday in Clinton Township District Court, where Judge Sheila Miller was to determine if she is competent to stand trial on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of DeAngelo Tobia. Police say she drowned the child during a weekend visit at her apartment. Borgia's attorney, Mark Haddad, said she has had several psychiatric hospitalizations and takes medication for depression. A new review date was set for June 6.
