Relatives of a man who died while being treated for depression at Charter Hospital of Pasco County filed a lawsuit Friday against the facility and his doctor.  Raymond Eliu Pastor Jr. of Spring Hill was admitted to Charter on Sept. 29, 1993, with a primary diagnosis of depression, the family’s attorney Charles Sansone said Tuesday. He died Oct. 9, 1993.

The Pastor family contends the hospital and Pastor’s doctor, Leo V. Yason, failed to diagnose Pastor’s condition properly and were negligent in informing Pastor about the risks associated with medications he was taking to treat his illness, the lawsuit stated.   The complaint filed in circuit court said, Pastor’s wife, Michele, and the couple’s two children are seeking compensation for medical and funeral expenses, lost income and mental suffering.  Gary Holmes, spokesman for Charter, said Tuesday that neither the hospital nor Yason had been notified of the lawsuit. He had no further comment.
