The rapper overdosed on fentanyl and Xanax
Lil Peep’s cause of death has been confirmed by a coroner, revealing the rapper overdosed on fentanyl and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax.
Peep – real name Gustav Åhr – died on the 15 November, aged 21. The emerging emo and hip-hop star was found dead on his tour bus, a medical examiner initially saying the case was a drug overdose but saying a topology report would take six to eight weeks.
While the death was seen as “suspicious” by authorities, the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner has certified the “manner of death” as “accidental.”
The performer spoken openly about his struggles with mental health and drug addiction, but maintained that his overall message was positive.

“People get me,” he told Paper magazine in his final interview. “People understand my message is positive and at the end of the day, I’m just here to make music that I enjoy and that other people enjoy. I think that’s why I have such a loyal fan base.
