DALLAS – Dallas police are now investigating the death of a 44-year-old man at The Galleria mall as a suicide, not an accident.

Crisan Hindorean of Boulder, Colo. fell about 50 feet from the third shopping level to the surface of the skating rink about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Some people were on the rink at the time, but no one else was injured in the fall.

Cell phone video taken by witness Steve Eberhart at the scene shows Hindorean landed closer to the middle of the rink, several feet from the edge.

Hindorean was at the mall with his girlfriend and her daughter, but they were not near him when he fell, police said.

One published report said Hindorean may have been depressed and taking medication.

The Colorado man was rushed to Medical City hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Dallas police are still actively investigating the case.
