Police Say Matthew Anderson Shot Attempting To Rob Fayetteville Bank

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Officials have released more information about an officer-involved fatal shooting last fall.
Authorities said Matthew Anderson was shot and killed Dec. 2 at the Arvest Bank branch in Fayetteville after officers said he attempted to rob it.
Police said he had passed a note through the drive-through to tellers at the bank, saying he was robbing the bank.
According to a medical examiner�s report obtained by 40/29 News, Anderson was shot three times: twice in the chest and once in the lower arm.
The report said he died from those gunshot wounds.
The toxicology report showed that Anderson had high levels of alcohol and antidepressants in his system.
The officer involved in the shooting has been cleared of wrongdoing by the department and by the Washington County prosecutor. He is now back at work.
