Asphyxiation Due to Hanging

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s estranged wife Mary Kennedy died yesterday as a result of asphyxiation by hanging — this according to the Westchester County medical examiner.

The medical examiner does NOT mention the word “suicide” — though it’s being widely reported … Mary killed herself.

Mary’s body was found yesterday afternoon at her home in Bedford, New York . She was already dead by the time police arrived at the home.

According to the Bedford Police Department, officers responded to Mary’s home to investigate a possible “unattended death,” meaning no one witnessed it.

Anti-Depressants, but No Booze at Time of Death

Mary Kennedy‘s suicide last May was NOT fueled by alcohol … this according to the toxicology report — but she was on three different anti-depressants.

The Westchester County medical examiner released a report Friday saying the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. died with Trazodone, Desmethylvenlafaxine and Venlafaxine in her system. Those are all defined by the National Institute of Health as anti-depressants.

The report also reveals there were NO traces of alcohol found in her system when she hanged herself, despite her past struggles with alcohol addiction.

Mary died May 16 at her home in Bedford, NY. She was 52.
