Clare White killed her five-year-old daughter before hanging herself
THE tormented mother who killed her five-year-old daughter before hanging herself in a bedroom wardrobe had been treated for severe depression for six months.
Clare White, 28, was prescribed antidepressants by doctors to help her through her despair.
Her devastated mother Margaret found the bodies of Clare and her daughter Ayesha after calling at their home in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire on Friday morning.
Police were last night looking at the possibility that a combination of relationship and money worries triggered the tragedy.
Troubled Clare is thought to have kicked her partner, Ayesha’s father, out of the home four days ago following an argument.
Police were yesterday seen leaving the terraced home with a bundle of documents thought to be utility bills. Clare held down two jobs, working for clothing giant H&M as a sales assistant as well as running her own cleaning business.
A close friend said: “Everybody who knew Clare is shocked and saddened. There was no warning. She was depressed and had been for a while, but there was no sign of this. Clare used to be a bubbly, fun-loving girl who laughed a lot and liked to go out. She was a fantastic friend and a loving mother.”
