LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville woman was arrested Wednesday after police said she tried to pick up her children from day care while intoxicated.

Louisville Metro Police were called to the day care in the 2500 block of Frankfort Avenue about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said when officers arrived, 29-year-old Amanda Nally was intoxicated on pills.

According to police, Nally told officers she had taken a prescription medication for depression and sinus medication.

Police said Nally had slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and had difficulty answering officers' simple questions.

Nally was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance.
