San Antonio, TX (AHN)– Human skeletal remains found at the Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio were identified Thursday as being a retired teacher who was reportedly depressed and suicidal on the day she disappeared 13 months ago.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office used dental records to identify Kathy Gutierrez, 56, of San Antonio. They haven’t determined the cause of death.
Her remains were found in a non-public area of the amusement park’s property under a rock wall on Wednesday, along with articles of clothing and a backpack.
Gutierrez suffered from depression and was taking medication for it when she disappeared on Aug. 14, 2007, her son reportedly said.
Her family and volunteers launched an unsuccessful search for her when she went missing.
