The boyfriend of a 58-year-old disabled woman who died in January was arrested Friday, accused of giving her a fatal dose of antidepressants.
Timothy Harrison, 54, called the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 27 to report Mary Baker was having a medical emergency. Deputies and paramedics answering the 1:30 p.m. call found Baker lying on her back in her Seffner home; she was pronounced dead about half an hour later.
Harrison told deputies Baker was a quadriplegic and that he was her caretaker and the one who dispensed her medications. The sheriff’s office said an autopsy showed tests Baker had toxic levels of the drugs Fluoxetine, often marketed as Prozac, and “Bupropion,” an anti-depressant, in her system.
According to the sheriff’s office, Harrison was exclusively responsible for feeding and giving medications to Baker from at least Jan. 24-27.
Harrison, of 8419 El Portal Drive in Tampa, was charged with murder and aggravated abuse of a disabled adult.
