A two-and-a-half-month-old baby has drowned in a bathtub after her mother allegedly left her alone to make a coffee.
Julia Duda was unresponsive when her mother, who reportedly has depression, returned to the bathroom around 10.10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The mother called 911, and authorities rushed the child from the home on North Nagle Avenue in Chicago, Illinois to a nearby hospital.

But Julia was pronounced dead at 10.39 a.m. at Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center, the medical examiner’s office told WLS.
She died from an apparent drowning. An autopsy carried out on Thursday was inconclusive as police continue to investigate the incident.
Julia’s mother, who has not been named [the woman is Dorota Duda, 30], was in police custody on Thursday evening, the child’s father said.
Police said the mother had left her newborn daughter unattended while she was bathing so she could make herself a coffee.
Stanley Duda said a wake for his daughter was scheduled for Friday.
‘It’s a tragedy beyond words,’ he told WLS. ‘I’m just speechless. When someone brings this up, I just can’t talk.’
