A woman traveling 56 mph in a 45 mph zone on U.S. Hwy. 80 was arrested by Louisiana State Police and charged with DWI-2 on Monday.

According to police, Sarah Irvin Evans, 24, 1350 Avant Road, West Monroe, was stopped on Forrest Hill Road. The trooper reported the smell of suspected alcohol on the suspect and that she had droopy eyes, slurred speech and fumbled with her paperwork.

An arrest report stated the suspect said she had been drinking and taking Prozac. Reportedly she performed poorly on field sobriety tests and showed to be too impaired to drive safely.

LSP said Evans had no driver’s license with her. An arrest report stated the suspect said she had forgotten her temporary license which was issued by the West Monroe Police Department on Sept. 9 when she was arrested for DWI-1. She had a copy of the citation for identification.

At Ouachita Correctional Center, Evans took a breath test which registered .261 percent alcohol. The legal limit is .08 percent.

She was charged with DWI-2, no bond, speeding, $150 bond and no driver’s license on person, $150 bond.
