Lake City – A Craighead County fire chief is recovering tonight at a Memphis hospital after allegedly being shot by his ex-wife.

Norman Eidson was shot in the chest Friday afternoon while visiting his ex-wife’s home.

Police aren’t releasing much information about the crime, but according to family, the victim’s ex-wife, Myra Eidson, is the shooter.

Family members say the couple has been undergoing a rough divorce and Mrs. Eidson has been taking different medications including Zoloft and Prozac.

The alleged shooter is being held at the Lake City Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.
